102.3 WHFS signing off on 07-14-1983

Here's the last 18 minutes of WHFS signing off from 102.3 on Cordell Ave in Bethesda. All the dj's are there to celebrate not the end, but the beginning of the next phase.

Does anyone know the last song played? The Velvet Underground's "If you close the door"

HFS was around into the 90s so wasn't this date 1993?

WHFS at 102.3 signed off the air on 7.14.83 but soon went back on the air at 99.1 - broadcasting from the twin towers at Radio park in Annapolis.

The last song on the 102.3 version of WHFS, was After Hours by the Velvet Underground. The first one on the reincarnation of WHFS was After the Rain by Bruce Cockburn, until Thanksgiving when the FCC cleared the WHFS call letters transfer, they were known as WLOM Progressive 99.
