1975 live interview with Lowell George & Linda Ronstadt

I've looked online for this and only came upon one site that had the complete interview like this. I believe this was released as a DJ copy from WHFS and not a commercial release. I've had this for a few years now and believe I downloaded it from a P2P site.

The Zombies - It’s the Time of the Season

Tape cut
- My Heartbeats

Lyrics of another unknown song – UPDATE: 06.30.08 - Thanks to 6for2 to letting providing the information on the above song. It's from the same band that did Da Da Da... Trio and Error. Thanks again. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trio_(band)

A helpful friend oh what a friend
I look at him with thanks
He reaches deep into his coat
What has he in his hand?

Bumpbump
The doorbells rings
And I don’t know
Who outside may be
A high heeled shoe
A naked lady
Does she come to me

Bumpbump
Here they go again
It’s a heartbeat…

A satellite was out of sight
Radioactive though,
Quite alright when it was high
But now it’s very low

If anyone knows the group that sang the Bumpbump song, please leave a comment. Can anyone date this recording? I’m thinking around 1983-84. 06.30.08 - Thanks to 6for2 to letting providing the information on the above song. It's from the same band that did Da Da Da... Trio and Error. Thanks again. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trio_(band)

This tape I’d say wasn’t uploaded after recording it to the computer because of the quality and being all cut up on the second half of the tape. I think it’s worth it for the Billy Idol listening party spot along with the first three songs make a cool set.

Anyone know Tim Deegan from Annapolis? Well, thanks to the Internet – maybe this is Tim Deegan www.livestrong.com/profile/tdeegan. If anyone wants to send him this way I’m sure he’ll get a kick of hearing Weasel play a Party Weekend dedication to him.

Here I went again with the pause button - I cut Weasel off soon after Party Weekend.
We pick up a week later on Throbbing Thursday –

The Stranglers – Skin Deep
Meat Puppets – Up on the Sun
The Doors - Mine Eyes Have Seen You

Weasel playing some Rock ‘n Roll…

Listen to Weasel banter with himself talking about joining him and Damien at Jack’s Corn Beef with Beyond Words. Need to listen to this! What was Weasel doing in that parking lot?

Hall & Oates - Live at the Apollo Theater – Every Time You Go Away
Station break –

It's been a while...

...since my last post. I have been busy plus my tapes are somewhat buried in a room full of, well, lot's of stuff and my USB cassette deck is not connected since moving my computer downstairs. It's funny, everyday I go into my sock drawer, I have to move my somewhat faded WHFS t-shirt out of the way. I don't wear it, so why is it in my sock drawer? I have so much stuff I had no where else to put it. Well, that's not entirely true, but the fact that it's there and I haven't moved it is what's funny.

For this reason, I think of WHFS everyday!

I'm going to move part of the "Why this blog" in this post since I have a feeling this post is going to be here for a while.

...It's named Naplesgc because I didn't quite understand how the blog name worked. I since found out but Naplesgc.blogspot.com is here to stay.

I started this blog to upload some 1980's cassette tapes I have of WHFS, 99.1 on the radio dial, Annapolis, Baltimore and Washington. If you are a fan of the 80's, and I'm not talking the 80's pop alternative, but truly awesome music from Rock-a-Billy, folk, classic oldies, modern alternative, some punk, simply, songs not heard on other radio stations, stay tuned. Be sure to click the link of my online friend wvkayaker for truly awesome rare recordings of WHFS and other music. It may take me a while to upload what I have, but I'll do what I can.

How do I have these tapes? I grew up in Rockville, MD and I'd say listened to WHFS from 1980-1989. In my circle of friends, I was one of the first to listen to alternative music and stayed away from the rap music that was being played loud on many car stereos back in 1983-85. I have these tapes and my records from the day to prove it. (Continue reading in the left column under "Why this blog"...)

I still make it over to another WHFS site, Camarillo Brillo (http://incaroads-wvkayaker.blogspot.com/)and download what looks interesting. Check it out yourself.

I would like to say the two months it took to create this WHFS blog and the interaction via comments with the WHFS fans has made all this worth the time. Long live WHFS - scroll down and check out my recordings and hope you enjoy them as much as I have listening to them over the years. Please leave a comment saying hello.
